Our patients with destructive periodontal diseases can maintain their teeth for many more years, and often decades, because of remarkable advances in periodontal regeneration.  We will highlight the clinical evidence for bone and periodontal regeneration, including an overview of principles and practical applications of regenerative therapies.  The presentation will address the rationale and use of biologics and growth factors to achieve periodontal regeneration.

Objectives:

• Understand the clinical parameters important in the selection of regenerative materials and approach
• Understand the biological benefit of novel approaches, such as growth factors and biologics to enhance clinical outcomes
• Appreciate the expectation of clinical achievement of periodontal regeneration based on contemporary evidence
