The popularity of smile enhancement therapy increased the rationale for dental aesthetic procedure to resolve excessive gingival display and to create a symmetrical and harmonious relationship between the gingival architecture, the mouth, and the surrounding facial structures. The supportive role that lasers have in esthetic dentistry has been documented for more than two decades.

The ability of dental laser to interact with oral tissues creates the opportunity for a minimally invasive periodontal surgery, allows for faster uneventful wound healing, prevents collateral tissue damage that could occur with conventional methods.
Conclusion: Laser-assisted aesthetic crown lengthening and gingival depigmentation are predictable procedure, less traumatic with shortened healing time, and overall a positive experience for the patients.

Learning Objectives:
• Understanding of the classification and treatment planning for gummy smile.
• Evaluate and compare the efficacy of three different laser wavelengths in removal of gingival pigments
• Demonstrating the both open-flap and flapless surgical techniques when performing esthetic crown lengthening with lasers.
